Dr. Beatrice Aker’s passion for dentistry stems from a love of people, community, science, and art. She believes a combination of deep respect for the basic principles of dentistry, love of human connection, and critical thinking are the keys to success in the dental field.
Dr. Aker enjoys educating her community about dental health and how it can positively impact a person’s entire life. Her choice to pursue general dentistry has allowed her to continue to elevate, grow, and evolve her skills in all aspects of dentistry to offer patients comprehensive and consistent dental care.
Dr. Aker was born in Kansas City, KS and grew up in Abilene, KS. As the youngest of five kids, her adolescence in Abilene was spent working at a local restaurant, playing tennis, acting as a “can-can girl” in Old Abilene Town, volunteering with multiple local organizations, enjoying the usual shenanigans with friends at the fair, and playing in the high school and city bands.
Before she chose dentistry, she completed a bachelor’s degree in English from Loyola University Chicago. She earned her second bachelor’s degree in chemistry from University of Missouri – Kansas City and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from University of Minnesota – School of Dentistry.
Dr. Aker lives in Abilene with her husband, Joseph, and their dog, Barney. When not in the office, Dr. Aker enjoys wheel-throwing ceramics, gardening, experimenting in the kitchen, reading, playing music, and helping on Joseph’s family farm.
